Slogan about myself
Mos is a professional educator with close to 8 years of teaching experience. He is currently a Research Officer and Consultant at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development in Kenya. He has worked as an Education Officer in the Ministry of Education where he was involved in a range of educational research activities. Mos holds a Master of Education in Research degree from Moi University. He is also currently pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Education Communication and Technology in the same university under DAAD scholarship. His research interests are in educational research, teacher education, early childhood education and curriculum instruction. Mos has strong bias towards children hence his working PhD topic, ‘Thinking with the eyes’: The effect of visual arts on preschoolers’ critical thinking abilities in selected Kenyan preschools. He seeks to explore how visual arts material could impact the development of critical thinking abilities among preschoolers in Waldorf schools. At a time Kenya is experiencing curriculum reforms by way of adopting a Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), Mos believes his study would significantly impact the pedagogical practices used with children in the learning environment, and also help with the acquisition of the 21st Century Skills for application in multiple settings. Hence, he envisions adding value to the education system of his country.
