    If you’re a researcher ready to structure your findings into a publishable journal article, this course is for you. Whether you’re new to academic publishing or seeking to refine your skills, this course will guide you through the structured process of planning, writing, and revising a compelling manuscript.

    Hands-On Learning:

    This course goes beyond theory. You will analyse published articles to uncover their argumentative structure, develop your own manuscript step-by-step; and gain a deeper understanding of how to “argue” your data and literature to create a meaningful research claim that answers your research question.

    By the end of the course, you’ll not only have a structured manuscript—you’ll also have the confidence and clarity to navigate the academic publishing landscape. Join us and take the first step toward getting your research published!

    60 notional hours (7-10 hours per week).

    Live Zoom sessions:

    One one-hour session per week for six weeks to help you connect, ask questions, and deepen your understanding.

    Learning Outcomes:

    • Frame your article around a persuasive and literature-informed claim.
    • Apply Toulmin’s Argumentation Pattern to critique and craft solid arguments.
    • Structure all sections of a journal article, from introduction to conclusion.
    • Paraphrase effectively
    • Navigate issues of plagiarism, co-authoring ethics, and journal selection.

    Requirements:

    Participants must have enough data and a clear literature review to start building their own research article.
