    Building a Dynamic Online Learning Experience

    In this course you will learn how to plan, build and test your online course. Participants will explore innovative techniques and technologies to create dynamic courses that captivate learners and foster meaningful interactions. Through a blend of theoretical insights and
    practical exercises, attendees will learn how to design clear learning objectives, develop engaging multimedia content and discover a supportive online community. By the end of the course, participants will emerge with the skills and confidence to design and deliver compelling online learning experiences that inspire and empower learners.

    Perfect for:

    All DIGI-FACE members including academics, lecturers, instructional designers, and postgraduate academics who wish to build dynamic online learning experiences using Moodle. No pre-qualification is required.

    What You’ll Learn:

    Over three weeks, you’ll gain the essential skills to:

    • How to plan, build, and test an online course using Moodle
    • Techniques to create engaging multimedia content that fosters learner interaction
    • Strategies to design clear learning objectives and align course content accordingly

    Hands-On Learning:

    Participants will engage in practical exercises, applying new knowledge immediately to develop effective online learning materials. The course includes self-paced learning with formative feedback and opportunities to interact in an online community.

    Course Format:

    Self-paced online course hosted on Moodle. Includes theoretical insights, practical exercises, and forum discussions.

    7-10 hours of self-directed learning.

    Live Zoom sessions:

    One orientation session.

    Academics, instructional designers, postgraduate academics

    Learning Outcomes (four main points):

    • Design online courses with clearly defined learning objectives
    • Demonstrate proficiency in creating engaging multimedia content
    • Develop skills to foster learner interaction and engagement
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of online courses and implement improvements

    Requirements:

    Stable internet connection, recommended browser: Google Chrome, Zoom, device: preferably a laptop, or a tablet with the Moodle app installed, completion of activities and assignments on Moodle.
